EMD provides technical support to Indian Railways for the manufacturing of Locomotives at DLW, Varanasi with the level of indigenization as high as 60%. EMD gave its first locomotive to India in the year 1962. BUZZ has been extending its Integrated Communication Support to EMD for over 4 years now and has been helping in the right placement of the brand in the Indian market.
EMD never indulged in PR activities though it has been in India for quite some time. Hence very limited visibility in the industry.
BUZZ had to Build brand equity of EMD by highlighting its achievements, technological innovations, strengths and showcase EMD product offerings to the target media.
What we did
- At the time of International Railway Equipment Exhibition (IREE) BUZZ recommended EMD to tap opportunity and announce its 50 years with Indian Railways (IR). A special 50 years seal was designed by BUZZ for the occasion
- t events like IREE, EMDu2019s Plant Inauguration media briefing sessions and media interface with EMD spokesperson to draw the desired media attention were organized
- Select journalist visits to EMD plants in US and Canada arranged by BUZZ to provide insight into EMDu2019s technological prowess
- Demarcate the original EMD designed parts from the fake/copied ones being made available in the market BUZZ recommended EMD to participate in trend stories and organize seminars, training programs
- Create a video highlighting the future technology viz. green initiatives of EMD and promote the same on Social Media Websites and Industry Forums / Events
